N. Korea's Kim says China friendship 'unbreakable'

Article Via The China Post

Yesterday, during a visit of Chinese defense minister to NK, North Korea's leader told the press that the relationship between China and North Korea will be forever "unbreakable". Even though the North's nuclear tests had slightly soured ties between the two countries.
North's Leader Kim Jong II told Xinhua news press that "a treasure inherited from the older generations of the leaders of the two countries, had stood the test of history and was unbreakable". He also stated that this year is the celebration of Friendship year, and to extend the continuing work of strengthening bilateral ties.
The two countries are close since China fought alongside with North Korea during the Korean War of 1950-1952, and China still remains a major supplier of aid, food, and oil for North Korea.
During the six-party talks China aimed at trying to end the North's nuclear program by opening more energy and aid resources for the country. But such plans were stalled after complaints from the North were demanding.

Each week, under politics of multiple news websites' seems to be filled with articles in a sense relating to the North. This of course is not due to the boredom of the publishers, but because of the North's inability to become trustworthiness. And one of the major reasons that the North can still continue to stick with their unseemly agenda is because of the "big hand", China, endlessly supportability towards North's backbone. Without China, the North will have to try increasing their arm sell towards poorer countries (Iran, Myanmar...etc). Or give up some of their dictatorial behaviors in order to have their international sanctions lifted. So yes, China does play an important key in the survival of this country, and what's worrying not only the UN and US, but also east Asia, is the unavailability of necessary protection needed with the North capable of reaching help towards China. Kim Jong II made it extremely clear, both countries' tie will not break tomorrow, next year, or anytime soon, which is why a country like North will be able to cause continuous disharmony and threat towards the other Asian countries. Also, this provides interference and distraction as the world and international organizations tried to focus on global issues such as stoppage of global warming and reducing numbers of countries in poverty. And there is nothing we can do, until China wakes up from their deeply drugged Communism government. Showing my greatest support towards the great saying: We hold
a vigil of reason for the world in this dark night of ignorance, and we shall continue withhold the forever spirit of democracy. Democracy, LIVE LONG AND PROSPER!!

lol, guys i think i pwned the last part, i copied partially from the "famous" vor saying..."we hold a vigil of reason for the world in this dark night of ignorance...". LOL, Mr. brown will be like WTF. :) good job vor.

Means can be used to ban risky beef from U.S.: Yaung

狂牛症 is something we all fear about 6 or 7 years ago. But today, Department of Health Head Yaung Chih-liang averted us from a recurring nightmare by suspending beef imports from the US to Taiwan. He said that it is very plausible that the beef contains risk materials and infections that are dangerous to the local people.

Yaung stressed that the U.S should respect Taiwan's decision in good of the Taiwanese locals.

Deputy Minister Hsiao Mei-ling stated that the accord has already been signed and the agreement has already been made so resuming talks is a difficulty now.

"The DOH announced Oct. 23 that Taiwan would expand market access for U.S. beef after officials of the two countries agreed the previous day in Washington, D.C. to lift a partial ban on such imports." This caused both KMT and DPP members to express disapproval to such decision, resulting in the decision Yaung made today. (You must have a clear logic to under this paragraph)

KMT Legislator Lin Hung-Chih said Yaung should step down for political responsibility on new marketing-opening measures

DPP Legislative whip Wang Hsin-nan accused Ma and National Security Council Secretary-General Su Chi for interfering with decision making process

Meanwhile, Council of Agriculture Minister Chen Wu-hsiung said his family could eat the beef, but he would not persuade the public to do so.

Tens Died in Baghdad

Just approximately an hour to one and half an hour ago (5:20 ET, or 9:20 GMT), at least 62 people were killed and 180 wounded in a double bombing in central Baghdad, Iraq's capital. Recently, the Taliban has again risen in Pakistan and executed dozens of attacks. And now, the al Qaeda militants followed and delivered a similar incident in Baghdad. Two car bombs detonated in quick succession near Iraqi government buildings, and the streets are now flooded with firefights, police, military intelligences, and fleeing residents. The national security of Iraq is concerned and certainly Qaeda is the biggest threat of all.

Italy and NATO Deny Paying Off Taliban

The Times said that Italy paid off the Taliban to keep the peace in parts of Afghanistan patrolled by Italian troops. In mid-2008, French troops took over the Surobi regions after Italy. Shortly after, ten French soldiers were killed, while no attack was reported when Italy was in control. The Times reported that Italy had paid "tens of thousands of dollars" to Taliban commanders in the Surobi district and came to an agreement that they do not attack each other. The newspaper cited Western military officials, including high-ranking officers at NATO, speaking on condition of anonymity. However, the NATO spokesperson and Italy's Premier seriously deny the statement of the Times by saying the report was "groundless". Until now, the "truth" from the report isn't admitted by any involved country and continues to bring down the reputation of NATO (and other countries).

Taliban and Pakistan

Pakistani commandos rescued 42 hostages on 10/11, who were held by militants inside the nation’s military headquarters. Pakistani military headquarters were attacked and taken over by the Taliban. The attack was the third by Taliban militants in Pakistan in a week, and it is ashamed for the Pakistani Army. It is more embarrassing for the Pakistani Army to lose their headquarter. It also proves that the Taliban is really growing stronger at a fast rate.

American military officials said that they were astonished that the militants could penetrate the high-security installation to the extent that they did. They are not aware of the growing Taliban, which they should. Americans are trapped inside the image that they had defeated Taliban with the help of NATO around 2001. However, they care less for Taliban until recent. The Taliban is today classified by security analysts as an "alternative government" in Afghanistan and many other regions in Middle East. They are equipped with strong weapons.

We should be alarmed.

DEATH OF NATIONALISM

As Eddie wants only posts about current news, I will post about my comments for a required essay for English which I recently read. The essay is "Mulatto Millennium" by Danzy Senna in Half and Half. It talks about the rising status of mixed people in American popular culture. Read it yourself if you want to as this post is not really about the essay.

In Taiwan today, the minds of the youth is dominated by popular culture - a black messy mix of brainlessness from various countries. Globalization is clearly evident - from the popularity of manga to the failed interpretation of rap to the US-democracy-fetish. Nationalistic patriotism is nowhere to be seen but the names of some streets and districts. Even the street names though, fail to retain any sense of patriotism. I recall conversing with a Chinese restaurant owner in San Francisco. Trying to tell me where she used to live in Taiwan, she was not able to remember what the street name is: "什麼孝東路的". The loyalty to one's nation - 忠 - is corrupted and replaced by globalist capitalist erections.

But you might say, "But you're a Trotskyist internationalist!" (or maybe you might not as I have not posted anything about this yet). However, we should consider the analogy of Sun Yat-sen in his 民族主義:

It is not that we should become racist or be isolated in North Korean Juche. Simply, our national solidarity and unity must NOT be sacrificed for globalization. We can still be Chinese while retaining economic power (especially in collaboration with the mainland).
