Taiwan court hears former president's graft appeal

Chen Shui-bian, after being detained then senteced to life in lower courts on corruption charges, plans to appeal his case to Taiwan High Court.

A district court sentenced him to life last month on corruption: NTD 3.15 million from special fund and bribes at list 9 million.

Chen and his lawyer argued that Chen is persecuted my Ma's administration and continually denied Chen's wrongdoings.

At times like, this justice is the only thing that can be trusted. And with Taiwan's sophisticated judicial system, no one has the capability to decide except for the experienced judges and hopefully unbiased jury.
