開心農場

There is a quite big news about Facebook application in Taiwan these dew days. Three/some people has been playing 開心農場, one of Facebook's most popular application of Taiwan users, while they supposed to work. They got fired, and that brought the issue to the public.

開心農場 is an application, or rather game, for the users to grow/plant crops and manage a farm- to form some kind of business. It has become popular by its nice graphic and mutiple functions, including "stealing". You can steal others' plants (restricted though). As i have heard my Mandarin teacher confirmed that she spent a lot of time playing 開心農場, and other similar applications such as Restaurant City...etc. I realized there would be some issues about the usage of Facebook. Just like I've predicted, people are really fond wiht playing those game and that leads to losing their jobs. So do you think it worth playing it that much?

  1. indeed. Games are becoming much more realistic, as a result, people gets more into them either because they are "real-life-coded" or just pure addiction. If we go on facebook during school hours, of course it is not at all surprising if workers go on facebook during their office hours. And I believe a majority amount of people joined facebook for it's games. Long Live Facebook! Long Live Farming!

  2. The game is trying to get the people used to getting fired. So its actually helping the people who play it.

  6. Wait, what's the point of the rule: "- Do not reveal authors' full name, location, or age."

When everybody's identity is revealed either by their obvious usernames or by the admins?

Eddie, was that what happened to you?
