From several sources the student protest was well-organized and non-partisan. They have now moved to the CKS memorial "Freedom Square" (mostly with the effort of the police). Now that they are not blocking traffic, I have nothing to say against the protest (except perhaps the pollution caused by driving there to give them food). The police now should not do anything to them. If it rains they can have fun swimming.
I am, however, completely against what they are protesting for. The police did what they had to do with agents of violence. The best offense is the best defense.The police could have improved not by being wimps but by having better shields and batons. Should people apologize for protecting the normal civilians? Should they be fired because they made the right decision and not become fluffy bunnies that want to hug violence?
The Assembly and Parade Law is needed, I reiterate. The government will need to know when and where a protest or march is going to be, so it can warn people that traffic and pedestrians will be blocked by protesters. Knowing the "reason" for protest will also allow the government to adjust amounts of law enforcements sent there. Finally, I just want to say these marches and protests are mainly for people who do not know how a petition works to change the law. If they are "students", they should be smart enough to know that.
It is raining now, they will have a lot of fun in the water. They will not care if the protest has no meaning: they will think it is fun.

i agree that the students should leave soon, they should focus on their school work and not pulled in by politics. I strongly believe that DDP have to take full responsibility.
